Lindsey Trainer, Counselor, started her training in mental health in London at the School of Psychotherapy & Counseling and the Highgate Counseling Center. Her postgraduate degree in counseling was obtained from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. For the last 18months, Lindsey has worked for Family Centered Services of Alaska and its sister company ,The Boys & Girls Home of Alaska, as a therapist doing individual, group and family therapy with children and adolescents who are severely emotionally disturbed (SED), living in residential care facilities. Lindsey has worked primarily with clients whose diagnoses include, major depression, where the client is completely incapacitated due to their feeling of helplessness, isolation, and loneliness. Also incorporated into client’s individual treatment programs was relaxation therapy to help with anxiety disorders as needed. Relaxation therapy was also used to help clients suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Lindsey has also worked closely with clients who have suicidal and homicidal tendencies, as well as sexual abuse and complicated grief issues. Her work has included, but is not limited to, working with clients who were diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder (FASD), Autism, Reactive Attachment Disorder and Substance Abuse Disorders.
$45-75 for an hour session
We don’t accept insurance, but if you have coverage, we’ll be glad to give you a receipt to submit to your insurance company.
