What started out as a hobby and a rekindling of musical ambitions became a nation-wide touring band with a stellar debut record.
Philadelphia high school friends reunited in LA thanks to the ebbs and flows of adult life and discussed the possibility of starting a band…After finding multi-instrumentalist through rigorous search effort (Craigslist) they became a band and named themselves Mt. Joy. So they recorded three songs and then set off into the world to see what was in store for them. Without initial promotion or fanfare, their music took off on Spotify, racking up 5 million streams to date.
Cue 2017, the band hit the road. And they hit it hard. They played alongside the likes for The Shins, The Head and The Heart, The Lone Bellow, and Whitney, and popped up at some of the summer’s biggest festivals, including Targhee Fest, Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, and Lollapalooza.
The five-piece band are riding high on the waves of their self-titled debut and this week for New Tracks on the Trail Tuesday we will hear more from the album.

Dennis Lloyd- Nevermind, an Israeli singer who grew up in Tel Aviv was actually born with the name Nir Tibor and decided to chance his stage name 2.5 years ago. His music career stated when he was 8- playing the trumpet and stealing his sisters guitar. He tells Billboard that his favorite album of all time is Nirvana’s Nevermind and that Kurt Cobain is his biggest musical inspiration…. Read the full interview here.
The Revivalists- single from upcoming album. The New-Orleans based band have been busy in the studio and are giving us a taste of their forthcoming record, out this fall on Loma Vista Recordings.
