Trail Less Traveled – 5/13

Born in a tornado cellar during the Dust Bowl, Paul Martin and his family moved west to Idaho in

1937 – the same year he made his first trek to Burgdorf Hot Springs in the central part of the state.

Formally established in 1865, the mineral rich hot waters at the remote springs have been sacred to the Nez Perce for centuries; sacred, too, for Martin, who has been visiting here seasonally ever since – exploring the valleys, rivers and mountains while making a career out of guiding and packing horseback riding trips all across Idaho and the west.

This week, Mandela records on location at Burgdorf Hot Springs on the life and times of a true living legend.

It’s the Trail Less Traveled, 6 pm Sundays on the Trail 103.3. For more information on this weekly travel series, including an archive of episodes past, visit traillesstraveled.net.
